Chapter Text
It had been three days since he arrived here, Momonga had discovered a few things already. Mainly the reason for his unreasonable calmness, he was now undead which now came with no need for food or sleep and his emotions getting suppressed any time they got too high whether it was a good thing or not was however another question. Still, what was suppressing them however was another matter worth looking into, the next thing he learned was every npc admired him each bowing low to him as he past them. He had also started looking over the npcs programing almost immediately making sure they were all loyal, as well as checking their knowledge on him wondering if any knew the backstory the devs gave him or any other personal details involving him, dedicating himself to not mess up there view of Momonga when he talked to them in person. Most however being as he remembered none actually knowing the story he and the devs created, however Albedos was an exception having never looked at the changes Tabula made having just assumed he had added one line of code to say she loved him, he was very, very wrong finding four paragraphs detailing the succubus' adoration of him.
'Tabula why, I know you're a perfectionist for detail but come on,' Momonga thought to himself before bringing himself back to the present standing in his dressing room adjacent to his and albedos privet quarts within the royal suit. The room itself was quite cluttered with a mess of robes and Albedo's dresses strung about the place with staffs and weapons placed in no particular order in racks along the wall with him having just pulled out a semi weak long sword the blade seeming to buzz straggly in his hand and was now currently about to test whether class restrictions applied here. Releasing a sigh he made to swing before the blade clattered to the ground. He sensed his son that stood next to him jump back slightly as it clanged onto the floor with Momonga giving a low hum before speaking, "So it's the same. Create greater item." A suit of black armor as Momonga in-visioned it appeared around him his robs seeming to disappear under them.
His son had followed him for most of the time during the three days occasionally getting sent away to play with Mare or Aura if one was free, with Momonga wanting the kid to have a normal childhood instead of having to only hang around his father. He also sent him to bed much to his protest saying he didn't require sleep, but Momonga insisted pointing out how mental exhaustion was still a factor with the added bonus of letting your mind wake up refreshed. That hadn't worked ether, instead having to resort to guilt tripping, pointing out how he had personally helped design that fl- realm and for him to not us it... that worked instantly with his kid immediately rushing off to sleep, Momonga happy he hadn't caught his slip up in calling his room a floor with it technically holding the classification of outer realm and really it was, just sort of separate from his room.
The realm had actually been mostly created by the devs with the only real part they worked on was the garden that located at the top of the islands highest peak. When they had given Momonga the world enemy npc they didn't quite want to waste an original idea, so they had created a story of a shattered realm where players could enter through realm brakes that opened randomly around Yggdrasil although they were kept from getting to the highest peak with it being attached to the tomb and all. The official story was that on the night the dormient primordial eldritch magic found a host the first undead, the mind that first conceived of death casting it into existence when the realms where still new and mailable, (aka Momonga) decided to bare a son the primordial magic forming getting pulled from the void sensing the new god, a new kind of being unlike his mother the lowly succubus or father the overlord death it's self or the gods of Yggdrasil pulling magic from the remanent peace's of realms in the void creating its own existence of magic separate from both divine and demon alike, a true Eldritch deity, the nameless god of madness and reality his father quickly taming the realm for a birthday present to his son. The devs had loved it (and the guild had teased him relentlessly about it), the devs had filled the large flouting land mass with mind flares and other such creatures they had been waiting to implement into the game, his son while not supposed to enter combat with him did have the exception of fighting the players who activated his world enemy boss fight. The only real downside to it was... the fact that the members of the guild couldn't participate in the quests located in the new realm because well it wouldn't do well to have the guild attacking the heir of the guild although they did get some of the drop items with them spawning occasionally in his son's inventory. Momonga also sometimes took the place of the boss fight wanting to actually use his powers since the tomb was impregnable and the devs knowing that, allowed it although in such a cause of his defeat which happened rarely through the years the game had been active, he would just drop the usual quest drops of his son since he wasn't technically the real boss.
Momonga had cheeked it first after meeting the guardians his jaw dropping having been expecting it to be missing and even more shocking was from the minions to the other high level beings his son 'oversaw' bowed and trembled before him shouting their allegiance to their masters father or apologies for not preparing him a calibration in his honor, with Momonga however politely refusing as well as neglecting to visit the six outer world npc gods that where mini bosses that acted as eldritch horror guardian knights not wanting to go over his sons head even if he was still the prince of Nazarick. Now onto the boy himself a being who commanded an entire realm or one quarter compared to the other realms of Yggdrasil which still meant it was far larger than the other floors, had, upon entering the dressing room earlier let out a laugh at the mess causing Momonga to realize he should have cleaned the place before hand as his shame was automatically repressed. Nabe who had been attending them all day didn't seem to mind immediately getting to work tiding the place.
Reaching down again for the sword finding it gone before turning to his son who was now holding it, "Thank you," he said as he took the sword from the boy's hands with the kid smiling up at him in return. Raising the sword up noticing the blade no longer buzzed before bringing it down with such speed it created a gust of wind that caused his red cape to flap behind him before stopping just before the glass cupboard in front of him. 'yep, just as in Yggdrasil if a magic item allow it, I can bypass class restrictions. But what's with the buzzing? Maybe its a result of the worlds natural laws, I mean there must be some explanation as to why anyone despite class can't wield a sword,' Momonga thought to himself as he turned to the mirror that basically took up the hole wall on his left admiring the armor he created. 'No one could mistake me for a caster in this I could get some fresh air while stepping out unnoticed,' He thought to himself as he turned towards the boy who was still looking up at him with his ruby eyes sparkling as they met his gaze.
"We're going outside for a bit," Momonga said turning to Nabe as he repressed a sigh already knowing what she was about to say as a reply, "The guard is ready for you." Momonga let a silent sigh escape his lips or teeth really, he had gotten tired of the constant attendants from his subordinates although feeling bad about it he could barely keep up the ruler's personality ending with him getting mental fatigue probably a side effect of whatever remained of his human likeness since his new body couldn't actually feel tiered. "That will not be necessary we shall leave on our own," Momonga said catching his son's attention clearly surprised.
"My lord I must protest if something where to happen to you while ether of you were out, we couldn't act as your shields and die for you."
"There... is something that I must do that requires secrecy I won't allow any escorts," his reply slightly delayed as he came up with the lie panging his heart slightly knowing they meant well but not wanting to get smothered went with it. Nabe paused for a moment before hanging her head as he handed her the sword he had been testing before relenting after the brief silence, "Understood. be careful, My lord, the same to you my young Lord." Momonga's son nodded while smiling before Momonga abruptly teleported them to a large rectangular room on floor one catching the boy off guard.
The room was lined with tall and slim stone slabs along the longer walls for laying the dead on, not that there were any now. With a staircase behind them leading down to the tombs entrance behind grand double doors, the sconces that lined the white marble room remained unlit with the only light coming from up ahead from the night sky peaking its way through the entry way of the central mausoleum. All he had to do was walk forward and head be outside but what stood before caused him to pause, three demons with him quickly recognizing them, Jealousy had the appearance of a woman with a crows head, Averis a masked man with red hair, bat wings, and horns, with Wrath being the strongest looking his body basically all muscle with an orc like face and horns that curved downwards, 'the three demon generals under Demiurge where supposed to be guarding the red hot shrine demiurges residence near the gate to floor eight, there basically his body guards so what are they doing here.'
After a moment of the demons staring stunned at their arrival with Momonga feeling vary sheepish at the attention he got the answer to his question as Demiurge stepped out from in-between them causing the name to slip from Moronga's mouth, "Demiurge..." the arch devil looked immediately puzzled as his name probably wondering why his master was here with it being kind of obvious who he was with his child standing next to him his wings giving off a faint multi colored glow. Knowing it would be suspicious to keep standing around he began walking forward taking extreme effort to not look at his feet in shame at getting seen having wanted to slip out unnoticed with that plan dashed to pieces now.
As he closed the distance the demons as if it was rehearsed bowed with Demiurge at the front looking refined in his moments as if he had been a nobleman before he spoke his voice equally as refined thanks to his passive skill that would make anyone under level forty vulnerable to his commands becoming his puppet however not many in Nazarick had to worry about that, "Lord Momonga, what in the world are you and the young heir doing out here without your honor guards? And if I may ask, why are you dressed in armor?"
"Hm well... I do have my reasons. And the armor, I'm positive you already know," demiurge proceeded to show various stages of thought as he took in Momonga's words before answering after a few moments, "Forgive me but I can't fathom your thought process behind this lord Moman-." "You may call me dark warrior... for the time being," Momonga interrupted him not wanting the other minions coming through to hear from the three underlings that he had just passed through, although he added the last bit sensing his son's confusion. Demiurge went silent again going back to his thoughts after hearing the embarrassingly generic name before realization shown across his face before saying, "I see... so that's why."
'See what,' Momonga nearly said out loud as Demiurge apparently found deeper meaning to what was really just him not wanting to have all the underlings calling him lord Momonga. Demiurge then continued his voice and face showing absolute grace as he spoke, "Lord Mo- Dark Warrior I managed to grasp a fragment of your profound intensions. It is currently a show of your consideration befitting a ruler as great as you, however I cannot overlook you or the heir of Nazarick being unprotected. Understanding the bother this must be, but I beg you pity me in this request and allow me to accompany you."
"I suppose I have no choice. I will allow you alone Demiurge."
An elegant smile spread across the Arch Devils face as he said bowing his head low again, "I appreciate you granting this selfish request of mine, Lord Dark Warrior, I will not fail you."
"You do not need to add lord with the name..."
"Surely you can't be serious my lord! It would be unforgivable of me to neglect your title, unless such a thing would compromise Nazarick on a mission or directly ordered. Other from that none in Nazarick could dare refer to you lord Momonga-I mean, Lord Dark Warrior without 'Lord'." Demiurge finished his speech leaving Momonga overwhelmed at the demon's seeming sincerity at his title nodding along only hesitating slightly wondering if Demiurge was poking fun emphasizing the name. 'Why couldn't I come up with something better.'
"How rude of me. I am taking up your precious time lord Mo- Dark Warrior..." Demiurge continued before standing and turning back to his demon generals and addressing them, "Now stand by here and explain where I've gone." The demons all stepped to the side before bowing again saying, "Understood Master Demiurge."
"Your minions have agreed Demiurge, shall we be off then," Momonga said at first to demiurge before turning to his son who nodded and said, "Yes." They then made their way out of the tomb with Momonga glancing at the minions thinking on how intercut Nazarick actually was having been surprised to learn they even had a system for communication between floors over seen by Demiurge. How they had such systems he couldn't say chocking it up to minor self-awareness when they were just npcs them even interpreting some decisions he and his guild members made in their own unique way. The main evidence to this being Albedo thinking the ninth and tenth floors where a sort of holy ground the lesser minions had no right entering when in reality, they hadn't put any minions there because anyone who made it that far would have been able to brush even high-ranking minions away with ease.
"Why do you think are lord was dressed like that?" One of the demon generals said after the three left with another joining in, "There must be a reason obviously, although if it took master Demiurge a bit to figure it out, we have little chance." As they voiced their opinions, they felt another floor guardian approaching Nazarick's entrance down the stairs. This being the true reason they had recognized Lord Momonga even if he had come alone and strolled through instead of teleporting the minions that belonged to Ainz Ooal Gown all gave off a certain presence allowing the rest to distinguish friend from fo with the supreme ones feeling like a power that rended one's soul, a fact Momonga was unaware of. As the grand doors leading to the first floor of Nazarick opened at the bottom of the stairs they felt the presence more clearly realizing it was lady Abedo only having to wait a few seconds to see her as she ascended the stairs.
They bowed as she closed the distance, her voice sounding as sweat as ever but still holding an undertone of annoyance, "I came here to see Demiurge please tell me where he might be?"
"He um... Went to accompany Lord Dak Warrior when he passed through just a little while ago. The prince was also with him."
Lord Dark Warrior? I know no minion by that name, and for Demiurge a guardian to have accompanied him along with myson, heir of all of Nazarick, how absurd?" The minions nervously glanced at each other not sure of what to say before Albedo seeing their odd behaver asked a threat edging her beautiful voice, "Might a bunch of minions be daring to hide something from me?" The three felt themselves go as still as stone unable to think of an answer before Wrath spoke up hesitantly, "Master Demiurge judged that Lord Dark Warrior was the one whom we all serve."
"Lord Momonga was here?!" Albedo said becoming slightly frantic. The three felt their nerves calm before Averis answered her, "He refired to himself as Lord Dark Warrior, but..." He however couldn't finish his sentence with Albedo quickly asking getting slightly more frantic than before, "What about his guard? Did they know he was coming here? Demiurge must have known he was going to be here since he had me meat him hear. Ug he couldn't have warned me, I need to make myself presentable." Albedo having been busy for the last three days had slowly gotten messy with bits of dirt on her dress and a few stray feathers here and there on her wings, but before she could leave to change Jealousy spoke up getting her attention, perhaps if you don't mind me suggesting but if you went to him as you are... He would see how much work you have done for him, would he not?"
The general had paused as Albedos wings bristled as she crossed her arms her eyes glaring daggers before softening as she continued. "You think so?" Albedo asked still watching the kneeling demon before another demon answered, "Yes, and if you went off to get ready you might miss him." Albedo seeing their logic groaned slightly before saying, "That makes sense... It seems it's been too long since I've seen Lord Momonga that I'm not thinking straight. It's been... eighteen hours twenty-five minuets and thirty-three seconds, isn't that to long of time to be apart from him?"
The three quickly nodded saying, "That definitely seems long," before Albedo continued, "well then I'll just add it to the list of benefits for when I'm done setting the groundwork for are operations. I can then start guarding him personally, now however slight annoyances aside where did Lord Momonga go off to?"
"He just left the tomb a moment ago lady Albedo."
"Well then I'll be off. Do you really think he really would appreciate seeing how much work I've done for him even if I'm a tad bit messy." With the minions quickly nodding after recovering from the shock at seeing her timid side or the fact that she had a timid side, she practically flew the rest of the way outside.
Nazarick had been originally located in the swamps of Helheim where there was little light with the dark clouds blocking what little there was, now however the sky glimmered with all sorts of color and stars a luminating the entrances surroundings. Momonga let out a silent gasp upon seeing it having never seen such a clear night sky before causing his mind to except just a little bit more that this was a world different from his own having never before seen such a clear night sky thanks to pollution. He sighed while shaking his head a couple of times as if he couldn't believe it before looking down to see the rest of Nazarick's outside, the outer wall and other mausoleums that circled the main one were bathed in the star light the white bricks twinkling ever so slightly. It was the same with the white stone stairs and pathways leading to the front entrance through the neatly trimmed undergrowth that surrounded the many graves that depicted angels or goddesses.
As a single large drooping tree cast eerie shadows across the ground, he went to activate a spell before hesitating realizing there was one problem. The skill that allowed magic casting in armor had been one of his extra world enemy level skills leading into his next thoughts, "Well I can just grab the flying charm or... Can I use them outside of the tomb?" Taking a moment Momonga couldn't help but feel nervus as he cast the spell, "Fly,"he felt suddenly weightless as the spell took effect causing a phantom smile to form on his skull he felt himself go giddy before it was suppressed serval times as he proved he had access to his extra one hundred levels outside the tomb. He willed himself up freed from gravity partially aware of his son flying just behind him to his left as he picked up speed. Demiurge also after a moment fallowed after them having changed forms, Momonga however didn't pay it any mind instead continuing to fly up stopping as he saw the world start to curve below him.
He through of his helmet wanting to see better to fine the world bathed in the pale night sky's light with what was probably this worlds moon hanging over the world, he was left speechless unable to form words as the flowing grass in the wind caused it to almost sparkle. "Stunning, no that's to cliché it can't begin to describe this. Blue planet would have probably sold his soul to see this..." Momonga recalled his friend who had loved nature having made the night sky on the fifth floor, he had always loved nature regretting the stat of the world's pollution. 'He would have absolutely gushed over this place,' he thought before getting pulled from his thoughts by the laughter of his son as he whooshed passed overshooting Momonga as the boy said, "Whoaa it's so cool, I've never been outside the tomb before."
Momonga felt himself get slightly irritated as the boy interrupted his thoughts of his friends before reminding himself, he was just a kid and wouldn't have known what he's thinking. "Many in Nazarick haven't, although it was a far gloomier location. This however is far grander, to see this by the light from the night sky alone, it almost doesn't seem real. As if everything sparkled like a box of jewels below us."
His son let out a small laugh with Momonga feeling himself smile as he turned to the boy as he continued to flap his wings keeping him afloat, Momonga wondering how tiring it must be decided to scoop him up shocking the boy for a moment before his wide-eyed face cracked a wholesome grin and looking back to the sky in wonder as his father cradled him in his right arm. The moment, however long it had lasted was interrupted as demiurge's elegant voice reached their ears, "Perhaps it is a box of jewels. This world must be beautiful because it contains jewels you are meant to adorn yourself with lord Mo- Dark warrior and to adorn the prince with as well." Momonga turned back to demiurge finding him in his frog demon form wondering if he was trying to flatter him, before turning back to the view before him and responding, "It truly is beautiful, perhaps these untouched jewels exist to be mine for the taking. You may also stop calling me that name the now."
As he joked he held out his free hand making a fist blocking out the sky as if he had grabbed all the stars in the heavens, even though it was just blocked from sight. Finding his action childish he shrugged as his son let out the quietest laugh before he continued, "No to hoard such things would be the height of selfishness. I should use them to adorn the great tomb of Nazarick, and those who are loyal to Ainz Ooal Gown."
"You are to kind my lord. If it is your wish, I would happily mobilize Nazarick's full force and take those jewels for you. It would bring me great pride to present them to you."
Momonga chuckled softly his son joining in as he thought, 'He must be caught up in this ambiance to, Lucifer would be even more so having been the guild member most obsessed with their "evil" guild states.' Momonga however replied, "It is however a little early for a quest. We know very little about this world, we don't even know how powerful the beings hear are, we could be considered weak... then again, the most enjoyable thing now might be taking over the world."
He had said it as a joke nothing more finding it funny knowing full well that taking over the world let alone managing it after would be a pain. He laughed along with his son unaware that had he been looking at Demiurge he would know the demon had entirely different kind of smile then one of jokes. (He really should have looked back.) 'ha jokes aside am I really the only player here from Yggdrasil, the message spell didn't connect me to anyone... but the effect of the magic could have changed, if that's the case I should at least try to spread the name of Ainz Ooal Gown throughout this world," He thought before something caught his eye far below him. What would have been impossible for a human eye to pick up was clear before him as he watched the earth move in waves to surround the tomb.
'Earth surge huh, seems like Mare is using a skill to help his rage and his class to boost its effectiveness, Well done,' Momonga thought silently before Demiurge spoke up breaking the comfortable silence that had settled over the group, "Lord Momonga, May I ask what you plan to do?"
"I want to thank Mare for his hard work. What do you think I should give him as a reward?"
"I'm sure that he'd be happy just to have you speak to him My lord," Demiurge replied giving a kind smile that contradicted his demon nature to Momonga who remade his helmet with magic as he sighed. Before he could decide what to give him however having not become conceded enough to take demiurges advice his son flew out of his grasp apparently wanting to fly on his own 'aww he probably doesn't want to be embarrassed' before the boy said as they descended, "You could ask him."
"Hm perhaps although then it would feel like more of a favor and less so a gift, I could..." Momonga trailed off getting an idea of what to give Mare when another problem aroused in his head as he saw the guild ring on Momonga jr's hand. Nazarick's inhabitance had seemed to have their own basic assumptions on the stuff he and his guild mates decided to do, for example the fact that only they had guild rings. 'I could give him a guild ring, but how would he take it? How would my son take it, he's technically the only npc who has one, they'd probably think it's because he's the son of a supreme being. Well, we kind of did give him that for that reason but the reason no one else is because it would be useless to give to guards who can't leave the floors there on, now however they'll be traveling around Nazarick, it would save time...'
With his cores of action decided he continued down to Mare on the outer wall of Nazarick as he finished up and turned probably feeling their presence before speaking nervously as he ran over to them, "Oh lord Momonga. Why are you here? Oh no, did I make a mistake already?"
"Not at all Mare. The work you're doing is of the utmost importance. It will protect Nazarick from intruders and more."
"Right."
"I wanted you to know just how satisfied I am, your performance thus far has been exemplary."
"Thank you lord Momonga," Mare said seemingly growing shyer at the praise before Momonga added, "I would like to give you a gift." The cross-dressed elf looked startled immediately protesting before Momonga waved him off, "Lord Momonga It is only natural that I give my all for a supreme being, a reward isn't nece-..."
"Then it is only natural that a good ruler rewards continued loyalty," His voice was calm as he spoke however having guessed his reasoning wouldn't be enough, he added the faintest edge to his voice to keep the argument short. Mare simply nodded before a ring appeared in Momonga's outstretched hand earning a gasp from his son and Mare with the dark elf quickly stammering out, "My lord you must have taken out the wrong thing, that's a ring of Ainz Ooal Gown... but... Only supreme beings are allowed to where an item like this. I can't possibly except!"
"There's no need to panic Mare, moving between Nazarick's floors can be difficult, this will allow you to do so unimpeded and easily complete your work. Now take this ring and serve Nazarick well... I also plan to give them to the other guardians as well once their work shows me their dedication."
Mare hearing his reasoning but still hesitant reached out his hand shaking as he took the ring from Momonga's outstretched hand and quickly putting it on, the ring shrinking to fit his hand as he did so. He seemed to almost bounce in excitement as he said, "Thank you so very much Lord Momonga. I'll be sure to work extra hard for you in the honor of Nazarick I swear it, I'll be worthy of this gift."
"Good I'm depending on you, Mare."
"Yes of course... um, my lord, if I may ask? Why are you wearing armor?"
"Uh, well... I- um," Momonga searched for a reasonable explanation finding none other than wanting to sneak away for a few moments of quiet and partially because he wanted to run away not knowing how long he could actually keep the act of absolute ruler up for. Mare's eyes staring up at him as they sparked did not help his guilt before a voice cut in, quickly recognizing it to be Albedo he turned finding her landing next to the group before taking a few steps closer to him, "It's simple Mare, the reason lord Momonga is wearing armor and went by another name according to the demon generals as to not disturb our work. If he were to have noticed him right away everyone would have dropped what they were doing to pay homage to their lord as is their duty, but our lord is far more understanding than we deserve and wishes for us to complete are work before such acts of fealty."
'You couldn't have said it less flowery, geez I almost wish you were being sarcastic, wait, is she?' Momonga thought internally as he also used gods sight to put his fears to rest finding her genuine before responding, "you understand my intentions perfectly Albedo, as expected..."
"As captain of the floor guardians it is only natural, I anticipate your needs. Although even if that wasn't the case Id still know your heart," Albedo replied Momonga not knowing what else to say saw Demiurge's expression change a look of what could be indifference or light irritation playing across his face, Momonga's ability still active from before quickly displayed the demon's thoughts, 'sigh* Albedo I know your just trying to be of use to lord Momonga, but do you really need to insult his unknowable mind by claiming to comprehend his thoughts...' Momonga turning the ability off decided against saying anything else happy Albedo gave him the out with Mare.
"Oh, so that's why," Mare said as he looked back to Momonga with renewed wonder in his eyes before Momonga's son asked, "You're not covering the entirety of Nazarick and making the dummy hills by yourself are you?"
"Oh, no there's golems and minions helping with the hills and gathering more dirt to move," As the two boys talked the three adults turned to watch Momonga noticing Albedo's eyes widening in shock as if they would fall from her skull at seeing Mare's hand before her expression calmed as if nothing happened. Momonga did a double take before thinking after wondering if it was just his imagination, 'she might have noticed his ring, well I'll deal with that in a minute, now as to Mare overworking himself.'
"Mare sorry again for interrupting your work, once you finish up with this section, please remember to rest even for a guardian overworking doesn't do anyone good," Momonga said interrupting whatever his son had been about to say. Mare turned back to him looking surprised before nodding saying, "of course lord Momonga I won't let you down, thank you." The dark elf then ran of seeming to be eager in completing his work.
With the rest of the group staying behind to watching the dark elf moving down the wall before continuing his work. Momonga after a moment turns to albedo saying, "Albedo I should give you one as well... It really is an oversight that you don't already have one."
"One what My lord?"
"It will make your work as administrator of the guardians a little easier," Momonga said as he pulled out another guild ring from his inventory earning a small gasp from the succubus, but she took it without protesting unlike Mare. 'Probably because she saw Mare with it,' Momonga thought before Albedo replied slightly shaking as she grasped the ring, "Thank you very much my Lord... Might I also apologies for coming to you in such a state."
Momonga at hearing this gave Albedo a more detailed once over then the one he did earlier, finding her hair barley frizzy and her feathers on her wings only slightly askew in places other than that she seemed to be fine. His son being the first to point it out, "Mom you look fine, dads been having you work, he wouldn't expect you to look perfect." Momonga couldn't help but smile internally at the exchange hesitantly before adding placing his left hand on his sons back, "Our son is right Albedo, I am sorry to be having to put so much work on your shoulders. However, the dust and a few ruffled feathers dose little to hamper your beauty."
"I... thank you my lord your words are too much," Albedo said seeming to shake at the parse as Momonga ignoring that continued to try and wrap his head around the fact that the raven-haired beauty in front of him was his wife, 'should I hug her. Kiss her... wait I don't have lips how would that work.' Momonga growing increasingly uncomfortable with his own thoughts tried distracting himself, "ahem, speaking of your work, how is you and Demiurge's information network coming along?"
"We already have some of our groundwork laid out... we have also finished setting up an early warning system, we'll know if any living or non-living creature gets within five miles radius from the tomb," Demiurge said stepping forward bowing slightly as Momonga turned back to him.
Momonga paused for a moment before asking, "...Are you using minions in this network?"
"Yes..." Albedo replied.
"There's a spell I think will help reduce the number of minions, the mirror of remote viewing, I'd like you to implement it into the system," Momonga said prompting Demiurge and Albedo to debate on what minion to have watch through the spell or if it should be a guardian to do so while also calling themselves fools for not thinking of it before hand much to Momonga's reassurances that they weren't and they had no way of knowing about it. As they finished Momonga found himself unable to think of anything else to talk about said, "Your work is greatly appreciated, I am also sorry for taking you from your work I have done what I came here to do. I'll be in my... study if ether of you need me. Oh, and I shall prepare a guild ring for you Demiurge another time."
"Of course, and Lord Momonga your apogees should not be wasted on us; it is our purpose to serve you," Albedo said.
"Albedo speaks true my Lord, we are happy to assist you anyway we can. And I can only hope to work hard to be worthy of such gift," Demiurge followed in reply.
Momonga knowing better then to protest simply nodded before looking to his son finding him back at his side. With boy in sight, he concentrated on him and himself the guild ring activating and their surroundings quickly changing before them now becoming bathed in bright light opposed to the night sky's soft glow forcing the two to squint. Unaware that as they departed Albedo let out a childish squeal clutching the ring of the guild to her chest as Demiurge only sighed shaking his head at the display.
Momonga's office had been pretty grand having two floors with a balcony circling the room and a few doors that led to various sections of books as if small miniature studies. That was however until his friends had built the royal suite, the office/study they had prepared for him there was ten times as grand and elegant. The room was twice the size of the old one, the floor was made of obsidian, the walls black marble with the large three-person thick pillars made from a combination of marble, obsidian and laced with ebony. The equally grand doors that lined the three floors' walls led to either of two libraries one containing summoning scrolls and magic books the other being... well an actual library that was partially empty, Momonga wasn't really a collector of Yggdrasil lore so what ever did occupy the room was thanks to the more lore collecting members of the guild.
A long table sat in the middle of the room, lined with dozens of grand chairs you'd expect kings to sit in. A large dark wood desk sat at the end much like his old one only slightly larger to fit the room his Momonga's chair remaining the same with a door to his and Albedos bedroom to the left of the desk. Another doorway parallel to the first on the opposite side of the desk that would have led to a privet bathroom in his old office now led to a second smaller office for albedo, and by small he meant still far more eloquently decorated then earths offices ever were. The bathroom having been relocated to somewhere else in the suite, near the second entrance to their room. Momonga was however sitting at the head of the table in the center of the room, a flouting mirror hovering over it.
Sebus stood behind him observing his master seeming to be carefully moving his hands the image in the mirror shifting as he did so. His son staired intently at the mirror as Momonga continued to experiment with the mirror displaying a road far below them having ben at this for hours of trial and error. As he seemed to get the hang of it, he began moving the view dramatically earning a gasp from Momonga, Sebus beginning to applaud at his apparent success before speaking, "Congratulations my Lord. I expected nothing less." Momonga felt odd receiving praise for trial-and-error work but the genuine admiration showing on Sebus's face put his suspicion of sarcasm to rest.
"Thank you, Sebus, I'm sorry to keep you here for so long," Momonga replied thanking him.
"But My lord, Lord touch me created to serve you faithfully in any task no matter how tidies," Sebus replied bowing his head slightly.
"Still though if you need a break, I wouldn't mind I can't feel the status effect of fatigue as an undead, but I don't believe that immunity extends to your race."
"What kind of a butler would I be to leave my master to rest while you still stay awake, as for any fatigue lord touch me had given me an item to prevent such things."
"Oh, I see," Momonga said still finding it surprising that the npcs knew terms from Yggdrasil like levels, statis effects or even the fact they are npcs although that last bit didn't quite extend to his son. Happy he could issue orders using game lingo and finding it a little bit funny at the npcs talking about the gaming words with a straight and serious face he turned back to the mirror his son appearing in his peripheral vision to his right. Momonga instantly felt bad for forgetting he was there quickly turning to address him, "Although you are immune to such statis effects naturally... my son, I would still remind you that you have no obligation to stay by my side, do not bore yourself on my account."
The demon boy looked away from the mirror and back at him his ruby eyes seeming to sparkle boring into his own eyeless sockets as he said, "but I'm not bored, you're my dad I like spending time with you, plus the mirrors cool can I try." Momonga not knowing how to respond to that turned back from his son his four multicolored wings glowing slightly brighter as Momonga replied, "Oh, I like spending time with you to. And you can try in a second, I still would like to find out more about this strange new world." His son nodded as Momonga began observing the world outside looking for any other structures nearby, soon finding a village about seven miles away from the tomb the buildings simple but still detailed enough to recognize as architecture from the Middle Ages not quite like Yggdrasil's Nordic themed buildings although it did prove this world wasn't as advanced as earth. Looking down he noticed dozens of people running about every which was odd for this early in the morning earning a question from Momonga, "A festival?
"No, definitely not," Sebus said leaning in slightly as the only change to his steely expression being the noticeable squint in his eyes trying to get a better look his brow furrowing slightly. Momonga quickly zoomed in finding what could only be described as a massacre. Men in plate armor running after villagers wearying simple clothing slaughtering them where they stood Momonga felt surprised realizing the sight didn't make him feel sick or disturbed before however he could contemplate his emotions he noticed a man in the mirror who had been fighting two knights fall to the ground having been stabbed, Momonga could swear he made eye contact him despite the fact one would need anti intelligence magic to do that but before he could dismiss it he saw the man mouth as blood dripped from his lips, "please my daughters."
"Your orders my lord?" Sebus asked.
'What should I say, I don't feel the urge to help them, it wouldn't benefit the tomb... and I don't want to anger any kingdom when I still don't know how strong the people of this world are," Momonga thought before replying still uneasy about his cold reasoning, "leave them be I see no good reason to intervene in their affairs."
"As you wish my lord," Sebus bowed closing his eyes as he did so Momonga felt a weird feeling pass over him, turning to Sebus almost wondering if the man was upset or at least uneasy about the decision he could have sworn he saw the visage of touch me startling him his friends first words to him coming to the front of his mind, 'because saving those in trouble is always the right thing to do.' Momonga had well found the corniness of the line hilarious however soon found out how much Touch me had abided by that principle, the memory caused him to laugh they hummer however staying bellow repression levels before he noticed his son looking shocked and slightly concerned as he laughed. The realization came to him, like Sebus he had high karma statis despite being classified as a demon even if the title was just in name, 'he probably didn't like the fact I was practically saying let them die, sigh* and touch would have jumped to be the first to save them I wonder if he remembers him at all. Gues now's a good time to test my strength in this world I'd have to do it eventually anyway.'
The mirror then showed two girls running away from the village probably the man's daughters the oldest of the two receiving a cut along her back after stopping to help up the younger girl. Momonga wanting to reassure his sons belief in him got up from his chair before saying giving a small laugh before saying, "Ha, here I am forgetting myself, Touch would be appalled by such brutal violence. I should strive to live by his example Touch Me even as an undead I should strive to do no undeserved harm. Sebus raise Nazarick's security level to maximum while I'm away and have albedo meet me there armed and ready for battle then prepare reserve troops proficient in stealth or capable of the invisibility spell ready to move in at a moment's notice."
Sebus bowed low saying, "Consider it done my lord. And if you'd allow me to say, I would think Lord Touch Me be honored you hold his beliefs so highly." Momonga not knowing how to respond to that simply nodded before a quiet almost timid voice drew his attention, "Um can I help." Momonga paused trying to figure out what to say not wanting to put him in dangerous but seeing how he definitely wanted to come from the tone of his voice, but knowing he was pressed for time he summoned his staff from his inventory as he said, "Arm yourself, along with your mother and be prepared to run at the first sign of danger." His son hesitantly nodded still however smiling greatly as Momonga cast a spell, "Gate."
Nemu could only cry as her sister hugged her to her chest blocking the armored men from her view, Nemu feeling her sister's grip slacken slightly as the knights who had been laughing at them as they ran fell silent. Nemu slowly looked up wondering what happened seeing the armored man's sword having been mid swing above her sister before it fell to the man's side as the horrible man staired passed them. Nemu turned to look finding what looked like red light pulling in darkness around it forming a floating wall. The knights in apparent shock cried out, "what is that." Nemu felt her eyes glue to the strange object before she wished she could look away; a skeleton clothed in infinitely dark robes its eye sockets filled with red light burning their way into her soul a red orb hovering in his exposed rib, while holding cage golden staff the metal twisting and turning topped with several snakes each holding a different colored jewel stabbing into the dirt as the monster stepped out of the apparent nonexistent dark shifting wall.
Enri hugged her sister tighter as the figure of what could only be death loomed over them the air almost freezing over. There were no other words for the entity before them it was death manifested wearing intercut black raven robes its bones picked clean of skin and muscles now bleached white as the vacant orbs that would have been eyes blazed with fiery light. She could only hold her sister tightly realizing there was no escape and the most she could ask for is for it to be quick as death stretched out a hand before she heard its voice sounding aged and commanding, "Grasp heart." Enri hear the knight behind her fall landing to her left barley seeing it in her peripheral vision but not daring to let her eyes leave the force of nature before her didn't even spare the soldier a glance.
As the solder fell to the ground Momonga made a final realization killing the man had meant nothing to him, no sympathy no self-loathing, just empty. 'Interesting it seems I've stopped being human in the mental capacity as well as physically and emotionally. I'll think about that later though, for now I'm just glad that ninth tear undead spell worked if it hadn't, I would have had to garb the girls and retreat since grasp heart has at least a stun affect if the target has defenses against instant death spells.' Momonga then stepped around the girls shielding them from the remaining soldier as he shouted in fear, "It's- it's a monster." Momonga finding the man pathetic as he backed away raising a sword in fear replied coldly, "What kind of man could murder women and children but doesn't have the nerve to face me? Well, I'm here now, you'll help me test my power weather you want to or not."
The man finally tried running away as Momonga stretched out his right hand again pointing as he said, "dragon lightning." Momonga had chosen to use a fifth-tier spell despite its weakness and the fact he was far more proficient in ghost magic having wanted to test their strength before saying, "Pathetic, that was only a weak fifth tear spell." Momonga then turned back to check the girls he had protected finding the older of the two starring back at him still shocked and almost afraid, Momonga wondering why she was still afraid but knowing now wasn't the time for questions decided to test his overlord skill, "Let's try making an undead, Death knight." a black mist formed above before descending onto the body of the solders body he had killed first soaking into the armor before the body rose twitching before black goo started spewing from its helmet coating the rest of it before it started to change shape and size. Momonga flinched away slightly thinking, 'Whoa it's taking over a dead body, they would just spawn in Yggdrasil.'
The body was tuned into a seven-foot black spiked armor its face rotten and seemingly full of hate baring a black and tall shield and a twisted sword in his opposite hand, as the transformation completed Momonga issued an order pointing to the remaining solider on the ground, "Death Knight go and kill anyone in the village wearing that armor leave the others alone." The death knight then ran off letting out a roar not hesitation on the orders Momonga reaching after it realizing he should think out his orders more clearly before issuing them since unlike in Yggdrasil summoned monsters cand go where you tell them to instead of just sticking close to you, 'Why summon a defensive monster if I'm just going to send it away?" Before however contemplating summoning another having the ability to summon at least eleven more, three before he couldn't cast deaths guide with his skills and then he also realized he could probably just summon one of the twenty-four first criminals, he heard two new sets of footprints behind him as the gate closed.
Turning Momonga found Albedo and his son had arrived Albedo wearing demonic black full plate armor her wings hidden probable beneath holding what was probably a very heavy axe that seemed lighter than air in Albedos grasp her pure white horns to were covered by the helmets own dark gray armor which could have been seen as decretive to anyone unaware she actually had horns her helmet even hiding her eyes behind a dark slit in the armor. His son however seemed to be the complete opposite, wearing pure white plate armor elegant in design his blood red eyes visible through the holes in his helmet modeled slightly like touch me's. with armor around his horns like his mother, his wings to hidden within the armor with a cape displaying the night sky now hanging over his shoulders as if a window to another world existed in the fabric. Momonga recognized it as the armor he would wear in the first stage of his boss fight, his staff in celestial axe configuration in his right hand.
The sight was only slightly amusing with the boy being only a few inches taller than the girl currently being shielded in her older sister's arms but holding in the chuckle knowing the boy before him would definitely give him a run for his money despite the 75-level gap his world enemy levels where the ones to count along with his special skills not even including unique world enemy spells on level with supper tier spells. "Forgive me my lord it took me longer than expected to get ready," Albedo said after a moment.
"My forgiveness is not needed Albedo, you arrived perfectly on time," Momonga replied.
"Thank you for saying so my lord. Now then, how would you like me to deal with these pathetic lower life forms?" Albedo said turning to look at the kneeling girls who whimpered slightly.
"Didn't Sebus tell you... never mind we're here to save the village from the ransacking soldiers," Momonga said turning to look at the girls he rescued as Albedo inclined her head showing she understood before Momonga continued, "Let's see... it looks like your bleeding, here drink this." Momonga then pulled out a low-level healing potion from his inventory having them only really to give them away since they didn't work on undead, so extending his hand to give her it he noticed the older girl grimaced and younger flinch away slightly before the older one finally spook reaching for the elegantly crafted bottle, "If you insist but please don't make my lit-."
She was however interrupted by her younger sister grabbing her arm pulling it back shouting, "No don't drink it Enri, please don't drink it." Momonga was startled at the sudden action thinking, 'come on I just saved your lives what gives.' However, before he could calm them down, he heard Abedo's beautiful voice now filled with wrath, "How dare you insult your savior." She had raised her axe above her head ready to cut the siblings down, Momonga found himself instantly shouting with his son at the same time as he stepped closer to his father looking to his mother, "Albedo don't lower your weapon at once."
"Mom there scared!"
"Of- of course forgive me I was carless," Albedo replied hesitantly seeing as both he and his son had told her not to. Momonga then turned back to comfort the two girls finding his son had stepped in-between his mother and them during Albedo's planed killing. The boy knelt to the ground now almost at eye level with the younger one saying, "Were going to help. Why- why are you scared?" His question was answered when the girls glanced back to Momonga, his son followed their gaze looking probably confused under the helmet realizing they found his dad terrifying. Momonga sensing the opening quickly said, "Oh, yes, I forgot humans tend to find my appearance... off putting." Momonga then leaning down handed the older girl the potion as he said, "This is a healing potion, not blood please forgive the misunderstanding."
The older girl blond girl who he now knew as Enri took the vile gulping down the potion the scrapes and bruises along her skin vanishing probably along with the nasty gash on her back. "I assume the pain is gone now?" Momonga said standing back up.
"Yes, it is," Enri replied still surprised.
"Hmm, tell me, have you ever heard of magic before?" Momonga asked wondering if they had been also freaked out about that, 'If that's the case I definitely can't blame them for being scared after what I just did. Also, if that's the case that's one less thing to worry about although I'll have to keep even a lower profile if that's the cause.'
"Um, yes. I have a friend who frequents our village. He's a pharmacist who practices magic." Enri replied.
"Perfect, then it's not hard to understand. I am a magical caster as well. Anti-life cocoon, protection from arrows wall." Momonga said casting two spells a large green glowing clear dome surrounding the two his son having stepped back to his father as he had been talking. "I just cast to protection spells around you. You both should be safe as long as you stay inside. But, just in case take these," Momonga continued pulling out two small horns from his inventory tossing them into the bubble, "If you blow the horns an army of goblins will appear to do your bidding. Do not hesitate to use them if needed." Momonga then turned to the village to help with whatever remained of the soldiers with Albedo and his son turning to follow when he heard Enri call out, "Excuse me."
Momonga stopped waiting for her to continue with his son actually turning to pay attention, "Thank you so much for saving us. We are forever grateful." The red-haired girl then said her voice clearly that of a toddler high in pitch Momonga realizing now that he had a moment to think about it that she was probably only a year younger than his son, "Thank you very much, mister!"
"It was no problem," Momonga replied still turned away.
"Uh, wait! May we please Have the name of the man who saved us?" Enri asked before Momonga could start walking again.
Momonga for some reason passed on this before realizing what he must do, "My name?" 'Yes, they all should know.' "You shall remember it well. and tell everyone of my great powers. I am Ainz Ooal Gown!" (Yes!!! I finally get to say Ainz Instead of Momonga) Momon- Ainz turned around at this point finding the two girls bowing side by side looking up at him in wonder and gratitude. After a moment passed Ainz noticing his son look to him in surprise at the name change before shaking it off as Ainz said, "Now stay safe till I or one of us comes back to get you, it should only be a moment." With that the group made their way to the village Ainz realizing covering up his skeletal features might be a good idea.
Ainz found the death knight in the center of the village where the soldiers had gathered many of the villagers for a mass execution. The death knight however had put that on halt having killed a good chunk of them with the rest of them looking ready to run for the hills. Having made his introduction and forcing the remaining soldiers to run to tell their boss of his 'kindness', he then reassured the villagers he was here to help despite their unease he put their mistrust to rest claiming to want compensation earning their acceptance of his help. Having put on a mask he had received for staying logged in over the holidays and mettle gantlets he had told his son to go and fetch the two girls but to see if he could use his magic to alter their memory of his appearance.
The village chief after seeing that the rest of the villagers were set to work helping temporarily fixing stuff around the village the attackers had damaged as some gathered there dead for a funeral the chief invited him into his home to discuss his payment for his deeds. The chief becoming surprised when Ainz asked for information rather than money, Ainz had claimed to be a hermit who spent his life studding magic, so he was out of the loop with the world at large. They were eager to educate me about the surrounding area to repay me for saving them although he wondered, 'What kind of people use magic in this world that these presents would trust my story without a second thought.' Ainz had even used Gods sight to check if they really believed him along with seeing if he could use it like how it operated in Yggdrasil finding the man before him and most other in the village where around level 10 most levels regarded in agriculture however it seemed to feel as if some where already caped but as if feeling loosely caped if that made since with the elderly chief capped at level fifteen.
Ainz chocked that up to something he must investigate later although considering this was real life it wouldn't be as easy for those to level up with age probably baring elderly people from growing in levels related to strength as he listened to the chief, he had learned this village was located in the border between three kingdoms that regularly fought with the soldiers having been dressed in the armor of the Baharuth empire with this being the kingdom of Re-Estize land Momonga felt happy not having stepped on the any local authority. However, they could have also easily just been from the third nation the Slane Theocracy, trying to stir up trouble between the other two, 'dam I should have taken one of the soldiers for questioning. ugh anyway its best not to dwell on the past.' Ainz had also learned that unfortunately his currency was worthless here other than the gold it was made from with the chief's wife estimating they were worth at least three of their gold coins even more so considering there fine and delicate craftsmanship of a Valkyrie and tree engraved upon its surface. With the added fact that this world had also copper and silver coins with little to no detail put into them only the symbol of the kingdom or trading guilds before the Chief seemed to notice his wandering mind.
"Is there something bothering you sir gown?" the man asked the map sitting on the table between them.
"No, anything is fine. Is there anything else of impotence that I should know about?" Ainz asked.
"Well, the closest city to our village is E-Rantel goblins ogres and other such things inhabit the surrounding area. but you shouldn't often see them if you stick to the main roads. The adventures hunt on that land and do a good job at keeping those monsters at bay." The chief continued explaining.
"Adventures?" Ainz asked.
"They're mercenaries who take care of monsters and other similar jobs in exchange for money. If you're looking to hire some of them there's a guild in E-Rantel where you can request their services," The chief said barley missing a beat probably getting used to how out of the loop Ainz was.
"An adventurers guild... And just how big of a city is E-Rantel," Ainz asked.
"I unfortunately haven't been, but it is far bigger than our village that's for sure," the Chief replied.
"I suspected as much," Ainz said before going into thought, 'If I want to find out more, I should make a name for myself in E-Rantel.' A villager then came in before anything else could be discussed telling the chief the funerial was ready. The chief turned to Ainz almost as if asking for permission, Ainz not knowing how else to reply he inclined his head in what was an affirmative response. Stepping out of the house Ainz found Albedo and his son waiting patiently by the door before wordlessly following behind him as they made their way to the hill with now covered in freshly made graves for the fallen the stones that marked them marked with soot with there not having been enough time to carve the names onto them. Ainz stood a distance away under a lone tree thinking to himself as he fiddled with a resurrection wand under his robe, "I could use a couple of my wands of resurrection and still have many to spare or even my world enemy skill deaths guide, but... Would they be as trusting of a magic user who's as good at reversing death as he is at bringing it. I can only imagine how much trouble I'd get myself into if I cast it."
Ainz heard the girls he had saved earlier finally break down over what was their parents' graves after the chief finished his short and solum speech asking the six gods to watch over them. "For now, I'll restrain myself. They should all be content with the fact that I saved their village," Ainz continued to think as the villagers continued to grieve not failing to notice his son fidgeting unconfutable at the sight. letting the wand rest in his pocket he took his right hand placing it on his sons shoulder his left hand still holding the guild staff. Ainz's son looked up to him before looking back to the villagers the solum event soon wrapping up.
After the funerial the villagers immediately went back to work, Ainz now walking around Albedo to his right with his son opposite his mother. 'Thanks to my good dead the name of Ainz Ooal Gown saving Carn village should spread across the countryside, any players from Yggdrasil should be able to seek me out. I shouldn't kill any humans without a reason I don't want to antagonize any players, plus if a man with a reputation has a cause it'll be easier to ally myself and win the support of one of the three countries even if the soldiers are weak, they may still have someone within the countries higher than level 200 maybe even 500. Sigh* I'm exhausted,' Ainz thought as they walked before finally coming to a stop when he realized how tiring this was for his still human mind. Ainz then said wanting a nap, "Today's mission was a great success. Let's head back home."
"Right away my lord," Albedo replied.
"Ok," His son simply stated. A man carrying a large wooden bored passed them nodding to them saying hay before continuing on Albedo seeming to track the man with stiff movements catching Ainz's attention. "You seem to dislike humans." Ainz said albedo turning to look at him as he spoke.
"What's to like about them? They are weak and pathetic. Just tiny insects that exist to be crushed underfoot." She coldly replied.
Ainz noticed his son staring at his mom and then at Ainz as if waiting to hear if it were true weighing what she said against whatever he said in response. 'Geez no pressure, come on think of something good to say before he sees them as worthless,' Ainz thought before responding, "Listen to me. I want you to show them respect. Act if you need to, but I demand you treat them with kindness. Strength is a gift, and letting a gift define your actions is quite foolish when you think about it."
Albedo grunted in surprise before hesitantly saying as she sighed, "Of course, lord Momo- Ainz." He noticed his son nodding while also seeming to think about what he had said, Ainz happy to have heard many of Touch's beliefs was happy he had remembered enough bits and pieces to pull that little nugget of information together. Still, 'It feels hypocritical to ask that of her when I don't have feelings for them either I hope I can still hold onto some humanity even as an undead.' He quickly wiped away the concerning thought instead pulling his focus on the world around him seeing a group gathered around the village chief looking concerned. 'The problems keep stacking up,' Ainz ground internally as he approached before asking, "Village Chief. Is there something wrong here?"
"Lord Ainz, thank goodness your still hear. I was just told there are more soldiers heading towards the village at breakneck speed." the man replied, his worry lessening at seeing him.
"Is that so... Don't worry I can handle this situation. please gather the surviving villagers into your home. When you're done, come meet me at the town square." Ainz said raising his free hand in a calming gesture.
The crowed smiled as the chief responded, "Yes of course we'll begin right away." It took surprisingly little time to gather the survivors into the home with the chief meeting them in the town square just intime to see the squad of soldiers begin approaching the center of the village the horses' hooves thundering on the ground. Ainz however noticing the clear difference in armor then from before felt himself relax slightly although still keeping his guard up noticing the men's and horses' uneasy attitude towards his death knight with many of the men grasping their blades close. Some however pulled their gaze from it to study his son seeming to notice the cloak around his shoulders and his red crimson eye's.
As they steadied their horses that seemed to want to run from the knight the man at the lead his face a mask of calm and professionalism that could only be achieved through years of battles and experience introduced himself, "I am the Chief Royal Warrior from the kingdom of Re-Estize, Gazef Stronoff. The king has ordered me to hunt down the knights that have been attacking surrounding villages. Your people are safe now, we will do all we can to protect you."
"Thank you, general Gazef." the chief said seeming to surprise Gazef having been focused on Ainz now turning to the chief. "Are you the chief of this village? Who is this man standing beside you? he looks peculiar," Gazef asked studding Ainz closely. The village chief went to introduce him before Ainz interrupted wanting to get to the point, "No need to worry about that now. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, General. My name is Ainz Ooal Gown. I'm a simple magic user who stumbled upon this town while it was being ransacked by those knights."
The general's eyes widened slightly in surprise exclaiming, "what," as he got down from his horse, the mount moving out of the way having probably been trained to do so. Gazef then approached Ainz and the group saying, "These people would've been lost without you. Thank you, sir Gown." Ainz realized at his use of his last name that they seemed to be closer to western tradition explaining the look he had gotten from the village chief when he had requested, they call him Ainz along with the apparent auto translation this world had noticing the words not corresponding to the movement of mouths not matching up earlier. Ainz however was unable to respond with another knight coming up from the rear shouting, "General! We've spotted a large army and there surrounding the village as we speak." The group released a small groan while Ainz sighed inwardly, 'Of course.'
